I was listening to a podcast today, the very funny Mystery AI Hype Theater 3000, and the presenters cited a great blog post titled “On the acceptance of GenAI” by Joep Schuurkes. Go and read it, s’gud.
Here’s my slightly very much more rabid version that should be on the splash screen presented to new users of, I dunno, Outlook and Gmail:
- I accept wholesale copyright infringement of all data, creativity, code, whatever, it means shit to me.
- It’s fine by me if all that data was labelled by people who were economically exploited by rich fuckers from a different country.
- Fuck the environment. Future generations will suffer heat death, disease, pestilence, famine and flooding? I don’t care.
- I don’t care that what I do will be replaced by a machine that’s massively incompetent.
- Fine by me if two or three companies’ business models will lead to a financial crash that will screw over my personal finances fairly soon.
- I agree with what big technology companies envisage for the world, its politics and its peoples, and want to help those companies get there.
- I want to give more power to the super rich. A great bunch of lads. Let them make all the decisions based on my personal information.
- I honestly believe that all that effort, money and all those resources are being well spent, and with my best interests at heart.
- I hereby attest that all the above statements are true, and I need to have emails drafted for me.
